Tasting Notes:
2008 kicked off with a wonderful "Pairing" tasting, which was hosted
by Rosalind Dworkin, at the beautiful home of Judy and Leon Smith. Members each prepared and brought a dish,
paired with their favorite wine match, for said dish. This was
an educational--not to mention delicious--event. A good time
was had by all.

Notes from the May Tasting--contributed

Here are the final
results for the ranking of the Piemonte Wines from the AWS Tasting
on May 12. Tasters were asked to rate the top 3 wines sampled that
day. The same scoring system used last year with the Sangiovese
tasting; 3 pts for a 1st place vote, 2 for 2nd
and 1 for 3rd was used. Unfortunately, it appears the
instructions were not as clear as they should have been and a few of
the ballots were returned with all 11 wines ranked 1, 2 or 3. Those
ballots were not used in the rankings. For a complete list,
