Membership:
Whatever your
need for wine education, wine appreciation, AWS chapter and national
membership information, wine competitions, wine tastings or links to
wine resources...we will attempt to meet that need.
Membership is open to
any interested person, from wine enthusiast to the curious novice.
Whether you need ideas about which wine will pair with with salmon
or when to open the Bordeaux your brother-in-law gave you for
Christmas; AWS Houston is the place to be!
Our Heritage
The Houston Texas Chapter of the American Wine Society (AWS) was
organized in the Fall of 1999 by a small
group of wine enthusiasts, with the goal in mind to encourage other
Gulf residents to enjoy and learn about wine. The chapter has grown
from only eight charter members to almost 50 members. A true
testimony to the appreciation that Houstonians share for wine!

Annual
(calendar year) dues are $62.00 (U.S.) per individual or couple.

It would help if you noted on the check the name(s) of the people
covered by the dues. Because couples often have different surnames,
it is sometimes hard to track who is included in the dues.
If you are not yet a member, remember that you are permitted only three
guest visits to meetings. After that, you must join before
attending. This is the national's rule and is related to
legal/insurance issues.
